BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 10, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Reform was scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 691 (Sen. Schmidt). 2. Testimony regarding HB 5164 (Rep. Lilly). 3. Testimony regarding HB 5315 (Rep. Cambensy). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from March 3, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Schmidt to summarize SB 691. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 691: Jeff Jensen, Citizen – Support The Chair invited Rep. Lilly to summarize HB 5164. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 5164: Garrett Jackson, Consumers Energy – Support Page 1 of 2 The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 5164: Marnie Wills, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs – Support Rodney Cole, DTE Energy – Support The Chair invited Gavin Leach and Mike Bath, of Northern Michigan University, to summarize HB 5315. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 5315: Kerry Krone, Michigan Liquor Control Commission – Neutral There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
