Gast Appropriations Room, 3rd Floor, Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4980 (Rep. Leutheuser). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4981 (Rep. Wendzel). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4982 (Rep. Meerman). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4983 (Rep. Rabhi). 5. Testimony regarding HB 4984 (Rep. LaGrand). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4985 (Rep. Gay-Dagnogo). 7. Testimony regarding HB 5120 (Rep. Robinson). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:32 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lucido, Sen (s). VanderWall, Barrett, Johnson, Runestad, Chang and Irwin, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett to adopt the meeting minutes from June 4, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair summarized the day's agenda. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony via Zoom regarding HB's 4980-4985, 5120: John Cooper, Safe and Just Michigan – Support Wayne County Undersheriff Dan Pfannes – Oppose HB 4980, Support 4981-4985, 5120 Grover Norquist, Americans for Tax Reform – Support David Safavian, American Conservative Union – Support Matt Wiese, Marquette County Prosecutor – Oppose HB 4980, Support 4981-4985, 5120 Arthur Rizer, R Street Institute – Support Pricilla Bordayo, Safe and Just Michigan – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB's 4980-4985, 5120: Diana Prichard – Americans for Prosperity – Support Jennifer Cobbina, MSU School of Criminal Justice – Support Steve Pierangeli, Berrien County Prosecutor's Office - Oppose HB 4980, Support 4981-4985, 5120 The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB's 4980-4985, 5120: Jason Smith, Michigan Center for Youth Justice – Support Jess Averill Hammond, MI Domestic & Sexual Violence Prevention & Treatment Board - Oppose HB 4980, Support 4981-4985, 5120 Peter Ruark, Michigan League for Public Policy – Support Tim Sowton, Business Leaders for Michigan – Support Algeria Wilson, National Association of Social Workers MI – Support The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4980: Marcia Hune, Community Bankers of Michigan – Support Due to time constraints the following individuals were unable to testify regarding HB's 4980-4985, 5120: Jon Meyr, Arbor Industries – Support Hakim Crampton, Just Leadership USA – Support Alexa Kramer, Grand Rapids Chamber – Support Due to time constraints the following individuals were unable to testify regarding HB 5837: Jody White, Citizen – No Position There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
