BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3447 FAX: (517) 373-5849 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 17, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure was scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 12:00 noon, in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 646 (Sen. Geiss) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Testimony regarding HB 4965 (Rep. Wakeman). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4966 (Rep. Schroeder). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4971 (Rep. Alexander). 5. Testimony regarding SB 892 (Sen. Lauwers). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:20 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Geiss, Bullock, and Hollier, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from June 3, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Geiss to re-summarize SB 646. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 646: Mark Polsdofer, Michigan Department of Transportation – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Geiss to report SB 646 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Geiss, Bullock, and Hollier Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 1 of 3 The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 646. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair invited Rep.(s) Wakeman and Schroeder to summarize HB 4965 and HB 4966. The Chair summarized HB 4971.
