Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 827 (Sen. Victory). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4686 (Rep. Berman). 3. Testimony regarding SB 1057 (Sen. VanderWall) and SB 1058 (Sen. Wojno). 4. Reported HB 5339 (S-3) (Rep. Webber) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Reported HB 5340 (S-2) (Rep. Byrd) with recommendation and immediate effect. 6. Reported HB 5602 (Rep. Wakeman) with recommendation and immediate effect. 7. Reported SB 986 (S-1) (Sen. Without objection, Sen. Johnson was excused from the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 5339 and HB 5340: Rep. Michael Webber – Support Rachel Richards, Michigan Treasury – Opposition The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 5339 and HB 5340: Dave Hodgkins, Choice Plus – Support Sen. Theis offered an amendment, identified as amendment #1, to the (S-2) version of HB 5339. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt amendment #1 to the (S-2) version of HB 5339. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the (S-2) version of HB 5339. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-2) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report the (S-2) version of HB 5339 to the floor, as amended, as a clean substitute, with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Lauwers, VanderWall, and Zorn. Nays: Sen.(s) Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5339. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. Sen. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to report the (S-1) version of HB 5340 to the floor, as amended, as a clean substitute, with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Lauwers, VanderWall, and Zorn. Nays: Sen.(s) Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5340. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to report HB 5602 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, and Moss. Nays: Sen.(s) Polehanki and Wojno. The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5602. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 986: Matt Kurta, Associated Builders and Contractors – No Position The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 986. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Lauwers, VanderWall, Zorn, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to report the (S-1) version of SB 986 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
