BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 9, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors, and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 3:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 1090 (Sen. Bizon) and SB 1091 (Sen. Bizon). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Alexander to adopt the meeting minutes from September 2, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair presented testimony regarding SB 1090 and SB 1091: Senator John Bizon, Michigan Senate – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 1090 and SB 1091: Erin Frisch, MDHHS Director of the Bureau of Child Support – Support Michael Adrian, MDHHS Division Director Bureau of Child Support Program Development – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 1090 and SB 1091: Kyle Kaminski, Michigan Department of Corrections – Support Cami Pendell, State Court Administrative Office – Support Kevin McKinney, Friend of the Court Association – Support Rebecca Shiemke, Michigan Poverty Law Program – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
