BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7708 FAX: (517) 373-1450 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 15, 2020 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology was scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., in the Senate Hearing Room, Ground Floor, Boji Tower. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SR 142 ( Lauwers) with recommendation. 2. Reported SR 143 ( Lauwers) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Bumstead, Outman, McCann, Brinks and McMorrow, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to adopt the meeting minutes from July 28, 2020. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SR 142 and SR 143: John Richter, Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association – Opposition Laura S. Sherman, Michigan EIBC – No Position Mike Byrne, Michigan Public Service Commission – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SR 142 and SR 143: John Dulmes, Michigan Chemistry Council – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to report SR 142 to the floor with recommendation that it be adopted. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Bumstead, Outman, McCann, Brinks, and McMorrow. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the resolution was reported. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to report SR 143 to the floor with recommendation that it be adopted. The vote was as follows: Page 1 of 2 Yeas: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Bumstead, Outman, McCann, Brinks, and McMorrow. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the resolution was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
