- HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON INSURANCE REP. MIKE HARRIS CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, January 21, 2026 Noon. Room 521, House Office Building The House Committee on Insurance was called to order by Chair Harris. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Harris, Tisdel, Lightner, Posthumus, Aragona, Neyer, Schuette, Brenda Carter, Tate and Fitzgerald. Absent: Rep. Whitsett. Excused: Rep. Whitsett. Representative Schuette moved to adopt the meeting minutes from December 17, 2025. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid a presentation on the Milliman Report on the Impact of Auto Insurance Reform before the committee. Joe Sullivan and Jennie Gies, representing the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, gave a presentation on the Milliman Report on the Impact of Auto No Fault Reform. Questions and discussion followed. Representative Fitzgerald moved to excuse Representative Whitsett from the meeting. There being no objection the motion prevailed by unanimous consent.
