BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1760 FAX: (517) 373-3487 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 18, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Small Business Development was scheduled for Thursday, February 18, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted 2021-2022 Senate Economic and Small Business Development Committee Rules. 2. Presentation by Liza Estlund Olson, Acting Director of the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency, on Deloitte and Touche UIA Forensic Review Key Fraud Risk Management report. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Geiss and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the 2021-2022 committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, McMorrow, Geiss, and Moss. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. At 12:04 p.m. Senator Lauwers entered the meeting The Chair invited Liza Estlund Olson, Acting Director of the Michigan Unemployment Insurance Agency, to present testimony on Deloitte and Touche UIA Forensic Review Key Fraud Risk Management report. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Moss to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. McMorrow was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
