BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3760 FAX: (517) 373-8661 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 23, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Environmental Quality was scheduled for Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Testimony regarding SB 61 (Sen. Victory). 3. Testimony regarding SB 136 (Sen. Outman). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Outman, Sen.(s) Daley, Johnson, VanderWall, McBroom, Bayer, and Brinks, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Outman, Sen.(s) Daley, Johnson, VanderWall, McBroom, Bayer, and Brinks Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited Amber Vrooman, of Sen. Victory's office, to summarize SB 61. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 61: Travis Boeskool, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy – Support Jerrod Sanders, Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 61: Tom Frazier, Michigan Townships Association – Support The Chair summarized SB 136. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 136: Phillip Preston, Michigan Beekeepers Association – Support Meghan Milbrath, Michigan State University's Department of Entomology and the Michigan Pollinator Initiative – Support Ana Heck, MSU Extension – Support Page 1 of 2 The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 136: Scott Faustyn, Michigan Green Industry Association – Oppose There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
