BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 24, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors, and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 157 (Sen. Bizon) and SB 158 (Sen. Hollier). The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Zorn and Bullock, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Zorn to adopt the meeting minutes from February 10, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 157 and SB 158: Marlon Brown, Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs – Support Fred Schaible, Dept. of Military and Veterans Affairs – Support Dr. E.H. Hirsch, Jewish War Veterans of the USA – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 157 and SB 158: Alex Houseman, Michigan Realtors Association – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Runestad to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Johnson and Alexander were excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
