BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7708 FAX: (517) 373-1450 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 24, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology was scheduled for Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 12:30 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4210 (Rep. Beth Griffin) with recommendation. 2. Presentation on Line 5 from Michigan Gas Propane Association The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:30 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Bumstead, Bizon, Schmidt, McCann, Brinks and Bullock, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Nesbitt to adopt the meeting minutes from March 16, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding Gavin Goetz, AT&T Michigan – Support Jennifer Greenburg, Telecom Assoc. of MI – Support The Chair made a motion to report HB 4210 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Bumstead, Bizon, and Schmidt. Nays: Sen.(s) McCann, Brinks, and Bullock. The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. At 12:51 p.m. Senator Horn entered the meeting. The Chair invited the following members of Michigan Propane Gas Association to present on Line 5: Jane Tomascewski, Director of Supply, Crystal Flash Wayne Kohley, Owner Excel, Propane Michael Sloan, Senior Director, Energy Markets ICF Page 1 of 2 The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. McMorrow was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
