BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 24, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources was scheduled for Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at 8:30 a.m., in Room 403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follow: 1. Testimony regarding SB 251 (Sen. McBroom). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:38 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Outman, Schmidt and McCann, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from March 17, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair summarized SB 251 for the committee. Member questions and discussion followed. The Chair acknowledged written testimony was submitted by Daniel Eichinger, Director, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, opposed to SB 251. Member discussion followed. The Chair invited the following individual to present testimony regarding SB 251: Scott Everett, Michigan Fish Producers Association – Support. Member questions followed. The Chair acknowledged written testimony was submitted by Amy Trotter, Michigan United Conservation Clubs, opposed to SB 251. Member discussion followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding SB 251: Craig Brunet, Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Oppose. Amy Trotter, Michigan United Conservation Clubs – Oppose. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Outman to adjourn the committee. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 8:54 a.m. Date adopted by committee: 05/19/2021
