BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1758 FAX: (517) 373-0938 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 14, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance was scheduled for Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., in room 403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4569 (Rep. Beeler) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported HB 4571 (Rep. Yancey) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Vice Chair called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Vice Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, Chang, and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Vice Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from March 24, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Vice Chair brought up HB's 4569 and 4571, and invited Rep. Beeler to summarize the bills. The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4569: Aaron Keel, Michigan Department of Treasury – Support David Hodgkins, Michigan Municipal League - Support The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4571: Aaron Keel, Michigan Department of Treasury – Support The Vice Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to report HB 4569 to the floor with recommendation that the bill pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Vice Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, Chang and Alexander Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Vice Chair moved to recommend immediate effect for HB 4569. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Vice Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to report HB 4571 to the floor with recommendation that the bill pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Vice Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, Chang and Alexander Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Vice Chair moved to recommend immediate effect for HB 4571. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Vice Chair moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Chair Runestad was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Vice Chair moved to adjourn the meeting.
