Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted the Committee Rules. 2. Reported HB 4053 (Rep. VanWoerkom) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 4429 (Rep. LaFave) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Testimony regarding SB 220 (Sen. Theis). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:03 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Geiss, Bullock, and Hollier, a quorum was present. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Geiss, Bullock, and Hollier Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. LaFave and Marcus Keech, of Rep. VanWoerkom's office, to summarize HB 4429 and HB 4053. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4053: Troy Hagon, Michigan Department of Transportation – Neutral The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4429: Troy Hagon, Michigan Department of Transportation – Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to report HB 4053 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Bullock, and Hollier Nays: None Pass: Sen. Geiss The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. McBroom to report HB 4429 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 220: Matt Levin, Michigan Department of State – Oppose The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 220: Andrew Vermeesch, Michigan Farm Bureau – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
