BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 21, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 277 (Sen. MacDonald). 2. Testimony regarding SB 281 (Sen. LaSata). 3. Testimony regarding SB 306 (Sen. Victory). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4127 (Rep. Hall). 5. Testimony regarding HB 4128 (Rep. Calley). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4129 (Rep. Marino). 7. Testimony regarding HB 4130 (Rep. Koleszar). 8. Testimony regarding HB 4131 (Rep. Sabo). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:03 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from February 3, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. MacDonald to summarize SB 277. The Chair invited Sen. LaSata to summarize SB 281. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 277. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4127, HB 4128, HB 4129, SB 277 and SB 306: Justin Roebuck, Ottawa County Clerk, Michigan Association of County Clerks – Support Page 1 of 2 The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 281: Maya Noronha, Opportunity Solutions Project – Support The Chair invited Rep. Bollin to summarize HB 4127 through HB 4131. The Chair invited Rep. Hall to further summarize HB 4127. The Chair invited Rep. Calley to further summarize HB 4128. The Chair invited Rep.
