BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 28, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors, and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4376 (Rep. Andrea Schroeder) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4377 (S-1) (Rep. Sarah Anthony) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett to adopt the meeting minutes from March 24, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bullock to adopt the (S-1) version of HB 4377. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Zorn, Bullock, and Alexander. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the (S-1) was adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4376 and HB 4377 (S-1): Marlon Brown, LARA – Support Fred Schaible, DMVA – Support E'Toile Libbett, Michigan Realtors Association – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Alexander to report HB 4376 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock, and Alexander. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to report the (S-1) version of HB 4377 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Page 1 of 2 Yeas: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock, and Alexander. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
