BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 28, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 287 (Sen. Stamas). 2. Testimony regarding SB 305 (Sen. Zorn). 3. Testimony regarding SB 212 (Sen. Johnson). 4. Testimony regarding SB 282 (Sen. Barrett). 5. Testimony regarding SB 274 (Sen. Johnson). 6. Testimony regarding SB 280 (Sen. Johnson). 7. Testimony regarding SB 302 (Sen. LaSata). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from April 21, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Bryce Webster, of Sen. Stamas' office, and Jeffrey Wiggins, of Majority Policy, to summarize SB 287. The Chair invited Sen. McBroom to summarize SB 305 on behalf of Sen. Zorn. The Chair invited Garrett Wheat, of the Chair's office, and Joe Rozell, Elections Director for Oakland County, to summarize SB 212. The Chair invited Sen. Barrett to summarize SB 282. The Chair invited Garrett Wheat, of the Chair's office, to summarize SB 274, SB 280, and SB 302. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 212, SB 274, SB 280, SB 282, SB 287, SB 302, and SB 305: Page 1 of 4 Adam Reames, Michigan Secretary of State – No Position At 3:10 p.m., the Chair left the committee. At that time, Vice Chair McBroom continued with testimony for the committee. At 3:20 p.m., the Chair returned to the committee.
