BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 12, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A hearing to consider the appointments of David Cozad and Thomas Baird to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission. 2. Vote to report the appointment of Mr. Henry Williams as the Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board favorably. The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:34 a.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Bumstead, McBroom and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion to adopt the meeting minutes from April 29, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the appointment of David Cozad and Thomas Baird to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission: David Cozad – Support Thomas Baird – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding the appointment of David Cozad to the Michigan Natural Resources Commission: James Bos, Pere Marquette Watershed Council – Support Keith Shafer, MI Bear Hunters Association – Support The Chair made a motion to report the appointment of Mr. Henry Williams as the Executive Director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board favorably. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Bumstead, McBroom, and Hertel. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the appointment of Mr. Henry Williams was reported favorably.
