BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1758 FAX: (517) 373-0938 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 12, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Finance was scheduled for Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 12:00 p.m., in room 403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4224 (Rep. Lilly). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4225 (Rep. Anthony). 3. Testimony regarding SB 393 (Sen. Daley). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Runestad, Sen.(s) Nesbitt, Daley, Bumstead, VanderWall, Chang, and Alexander a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Nesbitt to adopt the meeting minutes from April 28, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB's 4224 and 4225 and invites Rep. Lilly to summarize the bills. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony via Zoom regarding HB's 4224 and 4225: Matt Patton, Detroit Regional Chamber – Support Aaron Keel, Michigan Department of Treasury – No Position The cards were read of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB's 4224 and 4225: Mike Johnston, Michigan Manufacturing Association – Support John McNamara, Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association – Support Dan Papineau, Michigan Chamber – Support Matt Patton, Detroit Regional Chamber – Support Alexa Kramer, Grand Rapids Chamber – Support Diane Middleton, Midland Business Alliance – Support Veronica Horn, Saginaw Chamber – Support Amy Drumm, Michigan Retailers Association – Support Amanda Fisher, National Federation of Independent Business – Support Ryan Tarrant, Bay Area Chamber of Commerce – Support Steven Japinga, Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce – Support Micah Babcock, Small Business Association of Michigan – Support Kirstie Sieloff, Northern Michigan Chamber Alliance - Support The Chair brought up SB 393, and invited Sen. Daley to summarize the bill.
