BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 18, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in Room 403 of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4257 (Rep. S. Johnson). 2. Reported HB 4448 (Rep. S. Johnson) with recommendation. 3. Testimony regarding Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Michigan Automated Prescription System, Bureau of Professional Licensing, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, April 2021, #641-0220-20. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon and Irwin, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from May 11, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB's 4257 and 4448, and invited Jonathon Magry, staff of Rep. S. Johnson to summarize both bills. Member questions and discussion on each bill followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4448: Steve Delie, Michigan Coalition for Open Government - Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to report HB 4448 to the floor with recommendation that the bill pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis and Bizon Nays: Sen. Irwin The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair brought up the Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Michigan Automated Prescription System, Bureau of Professional Licensing, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, April 2021, #641-0220-20. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the Office of the Auditor General, Performance Audit Report, Michigan Automated Prescription System, Bureau of Professional Licensing, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, April 2021, #641-0220-20: Via Zoom, Mary Jo Koschay, OAG Audit Division Administrator. There being no further business before the committee, Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adjourn the committee at 3:25 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
