Gast Appropriations Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4117 (S-1) (Rep. Johnson) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4026 (S-1) (Rep. Eisen) with recommendation. 3. Reported SB 379 (Sen. Nesbitt) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Testimony regarding HB 4201 (Rep. O'Malley). 5. Testimony regarding HB 4202 (Rep. Carter). 6. Testimony regarding HB 4203 (Rep. Jones). 7. Testimony regarding HB 4204 (Rep. VanWoerkom). The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, Geiss, Bullock, and Hollier, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to adopt the meeting minutes from May 13, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair recessed the committee from 12:02 p.m. until 12:12 p.m. The Chair invited Rep. S. Johnson and Rep. Eisen to summarize HB 4117 and HB 4026. The Chair invited Rep. O'Malley to summarize HB 4201 – HB 4204. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4201, HB 4202, HB 4203, and HB 4204: Katrina Morris, West Shore Educational Service District – Support Fred Doelker, Dean Transportation – Support Mac Dashney, Michigan Association for Pupil Transportation – Support Carl Ingram, ABC Student Transportation Inc. – Support The Chair offered, and summarized, an (S-1) version of HB 4117. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report the (S-1) version of HB 4026 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The Chair invited Sen. Nesbitt to summarize SB 379. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 379: Troy Hagon, Michigan Department of Transportation – Oppose The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to report SB 379 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Barrett, Sen.(s) LaSata, McBroom, Victory, Outman, Lauwers, and Geiss Nays: Sen. Hollier Pass: Sen. Bullock The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 379. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
