BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 2, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 285 (S-1) (Sen. Theis) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 303 (Sen. Barrett) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported SB 304 (Sen. VanderWall) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from May 26, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to report the (S-1) version of SB 285 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom and VanderWall Nays: Sen. Wojno The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 285 (S-1). Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to report SB 303 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom and VanderWall Nays: Sen. Wojno The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 303. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 304. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
