The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 425 (S-1) (Sen. Zorn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 427 (S-1) (Sen. Zorn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 4201 (Rep. O'Malley) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported HB 4202 (Rep. Carter) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Reported HB 4203 (Rep. Jones) with recommendation and immediate effect. 6. Reported HB 4204 (Rep. VanWoerkom) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:28 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 425 and SB 427: Troy Hagon, Michigan Department of Transportation – Support The Michigan Association for Pupil Transportation – Support Mark Docherty, Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union – Support Mike Burke, Michigan State Firemen's Association – Support Kyle Svoboda, Michigan Fire Inspectors Society – Support Ron Brenke, American Council of Engineering Companies – Support Dan Papineau, Michigan Chamber of Commerce – Support Jon Cool, Michigan Railroads Association – Support The Chair invited Sen. Zorn to summarize SB 425 and SB 427. The Chair offered (S-1) versions of SB 425 and SB 427. The Chair invited Shane Preston, of Sen. Zorn's office, to summarize the (S-1) versions of SB 425 and SB 427. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 425. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Victory to report the (S-1) version of SB 425 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 425 (S-1). Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the (S-1) version of SB 427. Geiss to report HB 4201 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
