BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES June 30, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4348 (Rep. Calley). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:33 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) LaSata, Theis, Brinks, and Wojno, a quorum was not present. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4348: Eddie Garcia, SpartanNash – Support At 8:40 a.m., Sen.(s) MacDonald and Santana entered the meeting. A quorum was now present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. LaSata to adopt the meeting minutes from June 24, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, and Hertel were excused from the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4348: Christine Shearer and Dominick Pallone, Michigan Association of Health Plans – Oppose Scott Pace, Arab American Pharmacist Association – Support Mark Cook and Tim Antonelli, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan – Oppose John Gross, Michigan Independent Pharmacy Association – Support Due to time constraints, the following individuals were unable to present testimony regarding HB 4348: Peter Matz, Food Industry Association – Support Antonio Ciaccia, 3Axis – Support Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
