BILL SCHUETTE CHAIR COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, February 4, 2026 2:00 PM Room 428, State Capitol Building The House Committee on Rules was called to order by Chair Schuette. The Chair requested attendance to be called: Present: Reps. Schuette, Aragona, Wendzel, Martin, Posthumus, DeBoer, Witwer, Liberati and Herzberg. Absent: None. Excused: None. Representative Wendzel moved to adopt the meeting minutes from January 22, 2026. There being no objection, the motion prevailed with unanimous consent. The Chair laid HB 4934 before the committee: HB 4934 (Rep. Frisbie) A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled "Public health code," by amending section 18223 (MCL 333.18223), as amended by 2018 PA 24. Representative Frisbe testified in support of HB 4934. The following people submitted a card in support of HB 4934, but did not wish to speak: Griff Drew, representing the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs. Jarrett Skorup, representing the Mackinac Center for Public Policy. Dana Lasenby, representing the Oakland County Community Health Network.
