BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES August 31, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Reform was scheduled for Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4431 (Rep. Hertel). 2. Testimony regarding SB 585 (Sen. Victory). 3. Testimony regarding SB 564 (Sen. MacDonald). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, Lauwers, VanderWall, Moss and Polehanki, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the meeting minutes from June 15, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Zorn and Wojno were excused from the meeting. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4431: Rep. Kevin Hertel – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4431: Mike Gallagher, Michigan Lottery – Support Jasmine Tompkins, Michigan Gaming Control Board – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 585: Sen. Roger Victory – Support Kurt Berryman, Auto Dealers of Michigan – Support Adam Reames, Michigan Department of State – No Position The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 564: Page 1 of 2 Sen. Michael MacDonald – Support Michael Horvath, Michigan Charitable Gaming Association – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 564: Jasmine Tompkins, Michigan Gaming Control Board – Opposition Tim Poxson, American Legion Department of Michigan – Support Katharine Hude, Michigan Charitable Gaming Association – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
