BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3543 FAX: (517) 373-0927 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 7, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Local Government was scheduled for Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 1:30 p.m., in room 1200 of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4066 (S-1) (Rep. Fink) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4637 (Rep. Martin) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:31 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, Alexander and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the meeting minutes from September 30, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4066 and offered amendment #1 to the bill. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt amendment #1 to HB 4066. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, Alexander and Moss Nays: None The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to report HB 4066, as amended, as a clean substitute, to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson and Daley Nays: Sen. Moss Pass: Sen. Alexander The motion prevailed and the bill was reported The Chair brought up HB 4637. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Daley to report HB 4637 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Zorn, Sen.(s) Johnson, Daley, Alexander and Moss Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 1:37 p.m. Date Adopted by Committee: January 20, 2022
