BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 14, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Advice and Consent was scheduled for Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 12:00 noon, in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. A hearing to consider the appointment of Susan Corbin as the Director of the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:08 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Bumstead, McBroom and Hertel, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from August 31, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding the appointment of Susan Corbin as the Director of the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity: Susan Corbin – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding the appointment of Susan Corbin as the Director of the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity: Lisa Canada, Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights – Support Bob Trezise, Lansing Economic Area Partnership – Support Dave Worthams, Michigan Manufacturers Association – Support Lilly Brewer, Michigan Works! Berrien, Cass, and VanBuren – Support Todd Gustafson, Kinexus Group – Support Jenell Mansfield, AFT-Michigan – Support Evie Zois Sweeny, T-Mobile – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
