BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2420 FAX: (517) 373-2764 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 20, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Insurance and Banking was scheduled for Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 624 (Sen. Theis). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4694 (Rep. O'Malley). 3. Testimony regarding SB 447 (Sen. Lauwers). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4171 (Rep. Allor) and HB 4172 (Rep. Yaroch). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:01 a.m.. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Theis, Sen.(s) Lauwers, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Horn, Geiss, Bullock and McMorrow, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Theis, Sen.(s) Lauwers, LaSata, Nesbitt, Barrett, Horn, Geiss, Bullock, and McMorrow. Nays: None The motion prevailed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 624: Frank Venuto, American Council of Life Insurers – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 624: Marcia Hune, Life Insurance Association of Michigan – Support Joseph Sullivan, Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4694: Rep.
