BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 26, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by Eric Lupher of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan entitled: Lessons on the Beaten and Battered Mandate Provisions in the Headlee Amendment. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon and Irwin, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adopt the meeting minutes from October 19, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Mr. Eric Lupher, of the Citizens Research Council of Michigan to give the committee a presentation entitled: Lessons on the Beaten and Battered Mandate Provisions in the Headlee Amendment. Member questions and discussion followed. The Committee requested additional information be provided. Mr. Lupher will provide the Chair with the requested information. There being no further business before the committee, Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adjourn the committee at 2:47 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
