BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-2426 FAX: (517) 373-2964 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES October 27, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Families, Seniors, and Veterans was scheduled for Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., in the 403 Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4380 (Rep. Richard Steenland) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:05 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock and Alexander, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett to adopt the meeting minutes from June 16, 2021 and October 6, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4380: Fred Schaible, Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs – Support Tim Poxson, The American Legion – Neutral The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to report HB 4380 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Bizon, Sen.(s) Barrett, Runestad, Johnson, Zorn, Bullock, and Alexander. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 4380. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended.
