Gast Room of the Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported SB 494 (S-2) (Sen. Daley) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 700 (Sen. Stamas with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported SB 643 (S-1) (Sen. Wojno) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported SB 685 (S-1) (Sen. Brinks) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present; Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Barrett, Bizon, Daley, LaSata, Nesbitt, Outman, Runestad, Victory, Hertel, Hollier, Irwin, Santana, McCann, and Bayer, a quorum was present. The Chairman made a motion, supported by Sen. Daley, to excuse members from the committee meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Schmidt, and McDonald were excused from the hearing. The Chairman made a motion, supported by Sen. Bumstead, to adopt the committee meeting minutes from October 20, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Sen Daley to summarize SB 494 and the (S-2) version for the committee. The following individuals submitted cards not wishing to testify regarding SB 494: Mike Frederick, Michigan Soybean Association – Support Bob Devries, Michigan Pork Producers – Support Bob Devries, Michigan Milk Producers – Support Rebecca Park, Michigan Farm Bureau – Support Chuck Lippstrea, Michigan Agri-Business Association – Support Ashley Steffen, Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development – Support The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Daley, supported by Sen. Nesbitt, to adopt the (S-2) version of SB 494.The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Barrett, Bizon, Daley, LaSata, Nesbitt, Outman, Runestad, Victory, Hertel, Hollier, Irwin, Santana, McCann, and Bayer, Nays: None The substitute was adopted. Bizon, to report SB 700 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
