BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 09, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, November 09, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report Monitoring of Selected Child Welfare Caseloads, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, June 2021, #431-2785-18. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:13 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon and Irwin, a quorum was present. Chair McBroom invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from October 26, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up the Office of the Auditor General Performance Audit Report, Monitoring of Selected Child Welfare Caseloads, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, June 2021, #431-2785-18. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony in person regarding the Monitoring of Selected Child Welfare Caseloads, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services audit: Yvonne Benn, OAG Audit Division Administrator Ryan Austin, OAG Audit Supervisor Additional OAG auditors Sara Crawford and Josh Davis were introduced to the committee but did not testify. Member questions and discussion followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony via Zoom regarding the Monitoring of Selected Child Welfare Caseloads, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services audit, a slide presentation was given by: Demtrius Starling, Executive Director, Children's Services Agency, MDHHS Kelly Sesti, Director Division of Continuous Quality Improvement, MDHHS Member questions and discussion followed. There being no further business before the committee, Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adjourn the committee at 3:07 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
