BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7708 FAX: (517) 373-1450 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES November 30, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology was scheduled for Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the Senate Hearing Room, Ground Floor, Boji Tower. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted updated Committee Rules. 2. Presentation from the University of Michigan College of Engineering Michigan Electric Vehicle Research and Development Center The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, Nesbitt, Barrett, Bumstead, Bizon, Schmidt, Wozniak, McCann, Brinks and McMorrow, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wozniak to adopt the meeting minutes from November 9, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wozniak to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) LaSata and Bullock were excused from the meeting. The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Wozniak to adopt the amended committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Barrett, Bumstead, Bizon, Schmidt, Wozniak, McCann, Brinks, McMorrow. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the rules were adopted. At 2:04 p.m. Senator Horn entered the meeting. At 2:08 p.m. Senator Nesbitt entered the meeting. The Chair invited the following members of the University of Michigan College of Engineering Electric Vehicle Research and Development Center for a presentation: 1. Dean Alec Gallimore, Robert J Vlasic Dean of Engineering, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor, Richard F. and Eleanor A. Towner Professor of Engineering and Professor of Aerospace Engineering, U of M College of Engineering. Page 1 of 2 2. Greg Less, Batter Lab Technical Director. 3. Jeff Sakamoto, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering and Associate Professor of Macromolecular Science and Engineering, U of M College of Engineering. 4. Anna Stefanopoulou, William Clay Ford Professor of Technology, Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, U of M College of Engineering. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
