BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES December 1, 2021 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources was scheduled for Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follow: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4149 (Rep. Damoose). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4151 (Rep. S. Johnson). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4152 (Rep. Howell). 4. Testimony regarding HB 4242 (Rep. Alexander). 5. Testimony regarding HCR 7 (Rep. Albert). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Outman, Schmidt and McCann, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from June 30, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB's 4149, 4151 and 4152, and invited Rep.(s) S. Johnson and Howell to summarize the bills. Member questions followed. The Chair brought up HB 4242, and invited Rep. Alexander to summarize the bill. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4242: Tom Knutson, Knutson's Recreational Sales – Support. Member questions followed. James Mackie, Mackie's Bait – Support. Member questions followed. Benjamin Gollon, Gollon Brothers Wholesale Live Bait, Inc. – Support. Member questions followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4242: Craig Brunet, Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Neutral. The Chair brought up HCR 7, and invited Laurel Cummings, of Rep. Albert's office to summarize the resolution. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HCR 7: Brad Deacon, Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development – Support. Member questions followed. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Schmidt to adjourn the committee.
