BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES January 18, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Reform was scheduled for Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Adopted committee rules. 2. Testimony regarding HB 5260 (Rep. Witwer). 3. Testimony regarding SB 742 (Sen. Moss). 4. Testimony regarding HB 5090 (Rep. Clements). 5. Testimony regarding HB 5062 (Rep. Bolden). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, VanderWall, Zorn, Huizenga, Moss, Polehanki and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Lauwers was excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from November 2, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. Sen. VanderWall moved to adopt the committee rules. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, VanderWall, Zorn, Huizenga, Moss, Polehanki, and Wojno. Nays: None The motion prevailed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 5260: Rep. Angela Witwer – Support Kelly Herb, Michigan Independent Auto Dealers Association – Support Adam Reames, Michigan Department of State – Opposition Page 1 of 2 The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 5062: Tyler Lawrence, Rep. Kyra Bolden – Support Mike Tobias, Michigan Alcohol Policy – Opposition The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 5090: Jake McLaughlin, Rep.
