BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1725 FAX: (517) 373-0741 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES January 20, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Policy and Human Services was scheduled for Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4316 (Rep. Frederick). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4351 (Rep. Whitsett). 3. Testimony regarding HB 4352 (Rep. Allor). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:18 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from December 2, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Rep. Frederick to summarize HB 4316. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4316: Susan Oginsky, Nexcare Wellbridge Senior Living – Support Rich Farran, Health Care Association of Michigan – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4316: Dawn Kettinger, Michigan Nurses Association – Oppose Dalton Herbal, LeadingAge Michigan – Support Renee Beniak, Michigan County Medical Care Facilities Council – Support The Chair invited Rep. Allor to summarize HB 4352. The Chair invited Emily Eggenberger, of Rep. Whitsett's office, to summarize HB 4351. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4351 and HB 4352: Page 1 of 2 Frank Waters, Michigan Primary Care Association – Support Dave Worthams, Michigan Manufacturers Association – Support Brian Sapita, Michigan Pharmacists Association – Support The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Santana was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
