BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7708 FAX: (517) 373-1450 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES January 25, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Energy and Technology was scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the Harry T. Gast Appropriations Room. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 672 (Sen. Schmidt). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Lauwers, Sen.(s) Horn, LaSata, Nesbitt, Bumstead, Bizon, Schmidt, Wozniak, McCann, Brinks and Bullock, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wozniak to adopt the meeting minutes from November 30, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Senator Schmidt to summarize SB 672. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 672: David Worthams, Michigan Manufacturers Association – Support Amy Keller, Michigan Association for Justice – Opposed The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 672: Amy Drumm, Michigan Retailers Association – Support John Dulmes, Michigan Chemistry Council – Support Gavin Goetz, AT&T – Support Joe Sproles, Alliance for Automotive Innovation – Support Karen Johnston, Toyota Motors North America – Support Michael Alaimo, Michigan Chamber of Commerce – Support Katie Doyen, Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce – Support William Flory, Michigan Association for Justice – Opposed The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Horn to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Barrett and McMorrow were excused from the meeting.
