BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1760 FAX: (517) 373-3487 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 10, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Small Business Development was scheduled for Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 12:00 noon, in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 4725 (Rep. Bezotte) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported SB 791 (Sen. Horn) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 5295 (Rep. Hauck) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported HB 5296 (Rep. Hertel) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:02 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow, Geiss and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Huizenga to adopt the meeting minutes from January 27, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to report HB 4725 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow, Geiss, and Moss. Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 4725. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Schmidt to report SB 791 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow, Geiss, and Moss. Nays: None Page 1 of 2 The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 791. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Lauwers to report HB 5295 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5295. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McMorrow to report HB 5296 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
