BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1636 FAX: (517) 373-1453 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 23, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Elections was scheduled for Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 788 (Sen. Runestad). 2. Testimony regarding SB 884 (Sen. Johnson). The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:04 p.m. She instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Johnson, Sen.(s) McBroom, VanderWall, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the meeting minutes from February 16, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Runestad to summarize SB 788. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 788: Eric Doster, Citizen – Support The Chair summarized SB 884. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 884: David Jaffe, Citizen – Oppose James Johnson, Pure Integrity for Michigan Elections – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 788: Tori Sachs, Michigan Freedom Fund – Support James Johnson, Pure Integrity for Michigan Elections – Support The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 788 and SB 884: Gary Bradish, Citizen – Support Mike Brady, Michigan Department of State – Oppose Kristie Walls, Citizen – Support Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
