BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-1760 FAX: (517) 373-3487 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES February 24, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Economic and Small Business Development was scheduled for Thursday, February 24, 2022, at 12:00 noon, in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation by Graduation Alliance on Michigan's 23+ Program 2. Presentation by Economic Development Leaders for Michigan on "What's Next." The Chair called the meeting to order at 12:01 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Horn, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Lauwers, Schmidt, LaSata, MacDonald, Huizenga, McMorrow and Moss, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McMorrow to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Geiss was excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. VanderWall to adopt the meeting minutes from February 10, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Erin Luper, Senior Vice President of Graduation Alliance for a presentation on Michigan's 23+ Program. The Chair invited the following members from Economic Development Leaders of Michigan to testify on "What's Next": Jennifer Owens, President, Lakeshore Alliance Jim McBryde, President and CEO, Middle Michigan Development Corporation Rob Cleveland, President, Cornerstone Alliance There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
