The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Reported HB 5261 (Rep. Hammoud) with recommendation and immediate effect. 2. Reported HB 5262 (S-1) (Rep. Hammoud) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 5263 (Rep. Whiteford) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported HB 5264 (Rep. Hornberger) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Reported SB 811 (S-1) (Sen. VanderWall) with recommendation and immediate effect. 6. Testimony regarding HB 4880 (Rep. Hauck). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to adopt the meeting minutes from February 24, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair announced that HB 4654 was being removed from the meeting's agenda. The Chair offered, and summarized, the VanderWall amendment to HB 5262. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 5261, HB 5262, HB 5263, and HB 5264: Dave Worthams, Michigan Manufacturers Association – Support The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to report HB 5261 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. Page 1 of 3 The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for HB 5261. Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Johnson to adopt the VanderWall Amendment to HB 5262. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair VanderWall, Sen.(s) Bizon, Johnson, LaSata, MacDonald, Theis, Brinks, Hertel, and Wojno Nays: None The motion prevailed and the amendment was adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to report HB 5262, as amended, as a clean substitute, to the floor with recommendation that it pass. LaSata to report the (S-1) version of SB 811 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The Chair made a motion to recommend immediate effect for SB 811 (S-1). Without objection, immediate effect was recommended. The Chair invited Alex Porrett, of Rep. Hauck's office, to summarize HB 4880. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4880: Dr. Abigail Skallerud, American Physical Therapy Association Michigan – Support Page 2 of 3 The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4880: Bret Marr, Michigan Occupational Therapy Association – Support Rebecca Mastee, Michigan Catholic Conference – Support Sam Olsen, Michigan Athletic Trainers Society – Support The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Santana was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
