BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 15, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4591 (Rep. Roth). 2. Reported HB 4705 (Rep. Meerman) with recommendation. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon, Wozniak, Irwin and Chang, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from March 8, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4591 and invited Rep. Roth to summarize the bill. Member questions followed. The Chair brought up HB 4705 and invited Rep. Meerman to summarize the bill. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4705: Via Zoom, Phil Forner, Citizen - Support Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen. Wozniak to report HB 4705 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. The vote was as follows: Yeas: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon, Wozniak and Chang Nays: None Pass: Sen. Irwin The motion prevailed and the bill was reported. There being no further business before the committee, Chair McBroom entertained a motion by Sen.
