BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-0793 FAX: (517) 373-5607 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES A meeting of the Senate Committee on Regulatory Reform was scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4842 (Rep. Outman). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4232 (Rep. Hoitenga). The Chair called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Nesbitt, Sen.(s) Theis, Johnson, VanderWall, Huizenga, Moss, Polehanki and Wojno, a quorum was present. The Chair made a motion to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen.(s) Lauwers and Zorn were excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from February 8, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4842: Jacob Boyer, The office of Rep. Outman – Support Jon O'Connor, Michigan Craft Distillers – Support The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4842: Rebecca Park, Michigan Farm Bureau – Support Brendan Ringlever, Michigan Spirits Association – Opposition Mason Doerr, Michigan Licensed Beverage Association – Support David Marvin, Michigan Liquor Control Commission – Opposition Mike Tobias, Michigan Alcohol Policy – Opposition The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4232: Ken Morin, The office of Rep. Hoitenga – Support Mason Doerr, Michigan Licensed Beverage Association – Support Mike Tobias, Michigan Alcohol Policy – Opposition Page 1 of 2 The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding HB 4232: John McNamara, Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association – Support Leah Robinson, Michigan Chamber of Commerce – Support Matt Miner, Midwest Independent Retailers Association – Opposition David Marvin, Michigan Liquor Control Commission – Opposition Amy Drumm, Michigan Retailers Association – Support There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
