BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES March 16, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources was scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follow: 1. Reported HB 4332 (Rep. S. Johnson) with recommendation. 2. Reported HB 4205 (Rep. S. Johnson) with recommendation. 3. Reported HB 4206 (Rep. Roth) with recommendation. 4. Testimony regarding HB 4080 (Rep. LaFave). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Outman, Schmidt and McCann, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McCann to adopt the meeting minutes from February 9, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair brought up HB 4332, and invited Rep. S. Johnson to summarize the bill. The members had no questions for Rep. S. Johnson. The Chair invited the following individual to present testimony regarding HB 4332: Thomas Dunn, American Motorcyclist Association, District 14 – Support Member questions followed. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4332: Taylor Ridderbusch, MI Department of Natural Resources – Neutral Karen Middendorf, Michigan Snowmobile and ORV Association – Support James Hunt, Cycle Conservation Club - Support The Chair brought up HB's 4205 – 4206, and invited Rep.(s) S. Johnson and Roth to summarize the bills. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individual to present testimony regarding HB 4332: Via Zoom, Karen Middendorf, Michigan Snowmobile and ORV Association – Support The members had no questions. The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to present testimony regarding HB 4205-4206: Taylor Ridderbusch, MI Department of Natural Resources – Support The Chair brought up HB 4080, and invited Rep. LaFave to summarize the bill. Member questions followed. Bumstead to report HB 4332 to the floor with recommendation that it pass. Bumstead to report HB 4205 to the floor with recommendation that it pass.
