BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-3760 FAX: (517) 373-8661 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 12, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Environmental Quality was scheduled for Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., in the 1200 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding SB 954 (Sen. Nesbitt). The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m.. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair Outman, Sen.(s) Daley, Johnson, VanderWall, McBroom, Bayer and Brinks, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. McBroom to adopt the meeting minutes from November 30, 2021. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair invited Sen. Nesbitt to summarize SB 954. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding SB 954: Marcus Branstad and Prapti Muhuri, American Chemistry Council – Support Todd Jousma and Matt Owen, ISRI - Michigan – Oppose Kari Bill, ISRI - Michigan – Oppose Due to time constraints, the following individuals were unable to present testimony regarding SB 954: Travis Boeskool and Liz Browne, EGLE – No Position Kerrin O'Brien, Michigan Recycling Coalition – Oppose The Chair read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify before the committee regarding SB 954: Tim Minotas, Sierra Club – Oppose Charlotte Jameson, Michigan Environmental Council – Oppose Mike Garfield, Ecology Center – Oppose Michael Heltzer, BASF – Support Jeff Stoutenberg, Dow – Support Page 1 of 2 There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
