BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 **DRAFT** COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES April 19, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Oversight was scheduled for Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the 1300 room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Presentation from Lynn Gorski, Manager, Michigan Department of Corrections Employee Wellness Program. The Chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Theis, Bizon, Wozniak and Chang, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bizon to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Irwin was excused from the meeting. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Theis to adopt the meeting minutes from April 13, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair summarized the days agenda. The Chair invited Lynn Gorski, Manager of the Michigan Department of Corrections Employee Wellness Program to give the committee a presentation regarding the status of ongoing programs including the peer support program, employee chaplain program, wellness advisory program, training, leadership, recruiting and retaining programs and the wellness program survey among other topics. Member questions and discussion followed. The Chair requested additional information be submitted to the committee. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Wozniak to adjourn the committee at 3:07 p.m. Without objection, the committee was adjourned.
