Gast Appropriations Room in the State Capitol Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony only regarding HB 5586 (Rep. Hauck). 2. Reported HB 4263 (S-1) (Rep. Paquette) with recommendation and immediate effect. 3. Reported HB 4264 (S-1) (Rep. Johnson) with recommendation and immediate effect. 4. Reported HB 4265 (S-3) (Rep. Bollin) with recommendation and immediate effect. 5. Reported HB 4266 (S-1) (Rep. Brann) with recommendation and immediate effect. 6. Reported SB 1028 (S-2) (Sen. Huizenga) with recommendation and immediate effect. The Chairman called the meeting to order at 2:02 p.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chairman Stamas, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Schmidt, Barrett, Bizon, Daley, MacDonald, Huizenga, Outman, Runestad, Victory, Hertel, Hollier, Irwin, Santana, McCann, and Bayer, a quorum was present. The Chairman made a motion, supported by Sen. Bumstead, to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. LaSata was excused from the meeting. The Chairman entertained a motion, made by Sen. Schmidt, supported by Sen. Bizon, to adopt the minutes from the March 9, 2022, April 26, 2022, and April 27, 2022 committee meetings. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chairman invited Rep. Hauck to summarize HB 5586 for the committee. The Chairman invited Bree Anderson and Marchan Darby, of DTMB, who opposed HB 5586, to answer questions. Next, the Chairman announced that SB 960 was removed from the meeting's agenda. Next, the Chairman noted that the committee previously took testimony on HB 4263 – HB 4266. The Chairman read the cards of those individuals not wishing to testify regarding HB 4263 – HB 4266: Page 1 of 4 Bree Anderson and Anthony Estell, DTMB – Support Royce Humm, Michigan Association of Retired School Personal – Support (HB 4263) Matt Kurta, ESA Legislative Group – Support (HB 4263) The Chairman entertained a motion by Sen. Barrett, supported by Sen. Bizon, to adopt the (S-1) version of HB 4263.
