BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-6920 FAX: (517) 373-2751 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 17, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety was scheduled for Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at 8:30 a.m., in the 1100 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follows: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4799 (Rep. Filler). 2. Testimony regarding HB 4800 (Rep. Bolden). The Chair called the meeting to order at 8:31a.m. A quorum was not present. The Chair brought up HB's 4799 and 4800, and invited Reps. Filler and Bolden to summarize the bills. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB's 4799 and 4800: Robert Bassell, Debit Creditors Subcommittee – Support Paul R. Hage, State Bar of Michigan Business Law Section – Support Michael S. Leib, Self, via Zoom - Support The cards were read of those individual not wishing to present testimony regarding HB's 4799 and 4800: Haleigh Krombeen, Michigan Credit Union League - Support At 8:51 a.m., The Chair instructed the Clerk to call the roll. The following members were present: Chair Victory, Sen.(s) VanderWall, Barrett, Johnson, Runestad, Wozniak, and Irwin, a quorum was present. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Irwin to adopt the meeting minutes from May 11, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair moved to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Chang was excused from the meeting. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair moved to adjourn the committee.
