BOX 30036 LANSING, MICHIGAN 48909-7536 PHONE: (517) 373-7840 FAX: (517) 373-3932 COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 18, 2022 A meeting of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources was scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 9:00 a.m., in the 1300 Room of the Binsfeld Office Building. The agenda summary is as follow: 1. Testimony regarding HB 4969 (Rep. LaFave). The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. He instructed the Clerk to call the roll. At that time, the following members were present: Chair McBroom, Sen.(s) Bumstead, Outman, and McCann, a quorum was present. The Chair invited the committee to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to adopt the meeting minutes from March 23, 2022. Without objection, the minutes were adopted. The Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Bumstead to excuse absent members from the meeting. Without objection, Sen. Schmidt was excused from the meeting. The Chair brought up HB 4969, and invited Rep. LaFave to summarize the bill. Member questions followed. The Chair invited the following individuals to present testimony regarding HB 4969: Taylor Ridderbusch, Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Oppose Dave Malloch, Assistant Chief, Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Oppose Member questions followed. There being no further business before the committee, the Chair entertained a motion by Sen. Outman to adjourn the committee. Without objection, the committee was adjourned at 9:31 a.m. Date adopted by committee: 06/08/2022
